Easter

Keaton is growing up so fast. When people ask me how old she is I say 6 months then I think oh wait next week she will be 7 months! CRAZY!!! Keaton loves mealtime! She screams and squeals for bananas and carrots, and she is quite a good eater. She is not too fond of the crawling thing, mainly because she doesn't like to be on her stomach when she is awake. But she LOVES to stand and she tries to walk. She lifts her knees up really high to take steps when you hold her hands. We had a great Easter. Tried to make it to church 3 times! It's really hard to get places on time with a baby, it seems like everything takes 20 minutes longer. Finally I said I think God will just be happy that we are spending time as a family. We spent the afternoon with Keaton's grandpa Tommy and grandma Pat in Fort Worth and had a amazing lunch. Then we picked up great granny and brought her over to our house for some good quality time. We are heading to bed and thank God for all the blessings in our life...

Family time in Florida

We spent the weekend visiting the grandparents in sunny Florida. Keaton was of course her adorable self, smiling, cooing and observing all her new surroundings. She immediately remembered Nana and loved to belly laugh at her. Nana was a huge help waking up in the mornings with her and feeding her too. Keaton also loved spending time with her cousins. She is ready to start running around the room playing Star Wars with them anytime. It wasn't until our flight home that we saw a new side of her. She screamed and arched her back for almost the entire flight home. I had to hide out in the sound proof bathroom because I was so emabarrassed. The moment we landed she fell asleep!

6 MONTHS BABY!!!

6 MONTHS!!! Wow... how time flies. Our 6 month appointment was great. Keaton is exactly 15 pounds and 25 1/2 inches long. She is plumping out quite a bit now that she is on formula. She started eating solids... carrots, peas and sweet potatoes. It's amazing what a mess it makes! She is also completely sitting up by herself and loves to scoot all around on her belly. She can pull herself up from sitting to standing and loves to say "Da Da" although I don't think she "really" knows what she is saying because she told a cleaning person at my eye doctor today "Da Da" and he just loved it! She absolutely LOVES her big brother Barley and every time we walk down the stairs she starts looking for him and then just belly laughs when she sees him. She loves it when he licks her too! Right now she is doing this scream noise for excitement, which I'm not sure if that is quite normal, but it is really cute. She could break glass with as loud as her happy scream is. She is such a joy and we feel blessed everyday to have her in our lives. Oh and the "my dad's bike is cool" shirt is from Keaton's first vintage bike rally this weekend and NO she did not actually ride on the bike... we followed dad in the car but had a blast at the rally

Blowing Bubbles

It seems like everyday Keaton learns something new. Today when I picked her up, Maria said that she was kicking her feet and moving her arms all day. She also said that she started blowing bubbles with her mouth and cracking up at herself when she did it. It wasn't until I got home that I realized what she was talking about. For 3 hours straight, Keaton made zerbert sounds with her mouth and rumbled her lips and blew bubbles all while laughing at herself each time she did it. It was hysterical. She was even doing it during her last feeding of the night, which ended up very unsuccessful, because she could not concentrate on eating. She thought she was so funny. I'm sure it will be something new tomorrow. She is really developing quite the personality and she is loving life and happy all the time!

So Many Firsts

Everything seems to be happening SO fast. In just the past week, both of Keaton's bottom two teeth have broke through the surface, almost all of her hair has fallen out, and now when you lie her down on her back, she immediately rolls over to her belly. She also sleeps the enter night on her belly (still 12 hours!) We were afraid the whole teething thing would be a nightmare, but Keaton doesn't really seem to mind. She does this adorable sucking in and out with her mouth and she is constantly sucking on her fingers. But, no fever, crying, etc. so I guess things are going good. She recently started going on jogs, still in her infant seat, with dad, and is really enjoying the nice weather and getting the stare at her handsome daddy while he runs even though she falls asleep right away. We are getting more and more belly laughs each day too. Keaton's eyes have changed from bright blue to brown and now they are green, so who knows what color they will actually be. She is still gaining weight and growing well and we still have to add rice cereal to her bottles during the day to try to keep her food down. We end up with a lot of projectile vomit on us every day. Just this morning, I was walking her downstairs to put her in her carseat and she let out this huge burp and puked all over me and all down the stairs. I had to quickly change before going to work and could smell spit up on me all day (which I actually enjoyed which is kind of gross). It's also a bit embarrassing when someone asks to hold her, we have to say to beware of spit up. We are still absolutely loving Maria. She takes such good care of Keaton and loves on her all day.

Home Alone!

Keaton and Mom are spending the weekend home alone while Nathan goes snowboarding in Colorado. We figured he could use a little vacation for all the great "daddy" work he does. KLove and I went to the doctor today for a weight check, and she put on one whole pound in only 2 weeks! Yeah!!! No more weight checks until her 6 month appointment. She is now 12 pounds 8 ounces. Still a skinny little thing, but moving on up. She absolutely loves being with Maria during the day, and it is a wonderful balance for all of us, and so nice to know that she is in such loving hands during the day. The kiddos spent 2 of the days this week at our house and Pierce came over here. So, Nathan and I had to baby proof our whole house a little earlier than expected, but now it is done. Keaton and I are going to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend!

Adiós Daycare!!!

Keaton is officially out of daycare! Today, we started nanny sharing with our friends Katie and Bryan and their fabulous nanny, Maria. Maria is perfect for Keaton... she loves on her and holds her and we couldn't be happier. Her buddy Pierce had quite the opposite day, having to share his Maria for the first time was quite an eye opener, but hopefully that will only last a short time before they are playing together. We also had a HUGE accomplishment today... Keaton rolled over... TWICE in a row! So when we got home today, she was in such a great mood that I figured it would be a great time for tummy time. She immediately pushed herself up and rolled herself over to her back. I said I wasn't going to put it in the baby book unless she did it again, and she did right away! She said she is FREE of the bouncy seat at daycare and she is amazed at the way she can move! She is also in love with her voice... or should we say scream. I'm not sure if this is "normal" or not, but she has a scream for a coo now. And she LOVES to listen to it!
