What a great week we spent with Uncle Buddy! I cherished the time together and Keaton getting to know what a great guy he is... if only she had seen his cartwheels. Sadly, Uncle Buddy passed away 2 weeks after these pictures were taken. What a great memory we will have with us forever!

Thanksgiving in Florida
We spent the week in Florida at my parents house with the whole family! Keaton enjoyed spending time with her cousins and playing outside in the sunshine. As the week went on, the adults were finalizing the plans for our mom's 60th surprise birthday party. One by one each day a new guest arrived.... The McNeely's, Jeri and Mark, Uncle Buddy, Jackie and John, Raymond. We were planning a great day for our mom!

Thank you Grace!
So, it's been a while since I have posted on this blog. I used to treat it like a diary or a baby book, but for some reason I just lost touch with it. Last week I was in a training with a friend of mine from school who asked me about my blog. She said if you just start today you will feel great about it. That was last Wednesday and I didn't start (but I thought to). Sometimes I get so wrapped up in soooo many other things, that things can get overwhelming. A few days ago, Grace posted on my facebook "you can do, post something on your blog" and so today, I didn't grade a single paper. I didn't read a composition. I didn't turn on the tv. I didn't make any more excuses. I went back to where I left off and continued. And now, I am thanking Grace. You were right, I could do it and it does feel good.

Let's Go Rangers!

I'll admit, we were not huge Rangers fans. The t-shirts we are wearing are brand new, Lee is written on the back of mine. However, once they started doing really well, we, like most Dallas folks got really excited and all of a sudden LOVED the Rangers. Nathan went out and bought us all Rangers clothes and hats and every time there was a playoff game on, that is all that was happening in our house. So, the morning of game 5 of the World Series, Rangers down 1-4, Nathan leaves at 7:30 am saying how busy he is at work and since he is leaving on a 6 am flight to Detroit the next morning... you probably won't even see me. Okay... used to it. Approximately 8:30 I receive a text "Just bought tickets to tonights game. Be ready at 5:00. Pack jackets, money, camera, beer" Who is this guy??? My response back.... "Are we bringing Keaton?" His - "Of course! This is a once in a lifetime moment, she can't miss it!" Ummmm.... has anyone told him she is 2 years old! Well, we all went and we had a great time. The Rangers really fought for it, but San Francisco dominated and deserved the win. I however, spent the majority of the time walking the grounds with Keaton (could have seen more of the game on tv, but don't tell Nathan that). Oh, and a bird pooped on me. We were sitting right under a bunch of pigeons and yes, one of them got me. I think we had the cheap seats :)

Trick or Treat Nemo

First house - Keaton wouldn't even put her hand in the person's basket to take a piece of candy. About 5 houses in - she felt comfortable taking a piece of candy. By the last house she was taking handfuls and quick as she could and putting them in her basket. I let her have a lollipop and some MnMs and then I brought the rest of the candy to school for my students.

Pumpkin, Pumpkins and More Pumpkins!

From the Farmers Market downtown to the Arboretum, we got a full dose of pumpkins this year. "Smile" when the camera is pointed at Keaton is still not working to get that perfect snapshot, but of the 1,000's I took, I was able to pick a few where she was at least looking somewhat at the camera. Happy Fall!
